About Dr Athira Sekhar J
Dr. Athira Sekhar is a specialist cardiac anesthesiologist with vast experience in cardiac anesthesia, pediatric and neonatal anesthesia, critical care, labour analgesia and pain management and transesophageal echocardiography. She has been trained in the anesthetic management of cardiopulmonary bypass procedures, valvular replacement and repair, cardiac catheterization, ECMO, bentalls, pulmonary thrombendarterectomy and aortic aneurysm repair. She has extensively worked in the placement of pulmonary and right heart catheters, dialysis sheath catheters and temporary transvenous cardiac pacemakers.

Work Experience
She carries with her experience of working in various tertiary centers under government and corporates in India. She started her anesthesia career at a corporate hospital after which she pursued cardiac anesthesia at Narayana Hridyalaya, Banglore and worked as consultant cardiac anesthetist at a corporate hospital in Kerala. During the COVID pandemic, she has worked in the COVID ICU and cardiac theaters at Royal Hospital of Ministry of Health, Oman followed by pioneering of ICU and Cardiac Cath procedures at a private hospital in Oman, rendered IVF anesthesia services at various IVF centers in Oman.
